Afghanistan Series Schedule Changed Again: Bangladesh U-19 Team's Departure Delayed by Visa Complications
Bangladesh U-19 cricket team's Oman tour schedule has been changed again. The schedule for the bilateral ODI series against Afghanistan U-19 had already been reduced once, and now it has been reshuffled again. According to the latest plan, the four matches of the series will be held on October 17, 19, 21, and 23. All matches will take place at the Oman Cricket Academy ground, a neutral venue for both teams. The Bangladesh team's departure has been delayed due to visa complications. Ten players of the squad have already reached Oman, while the remaining players will travel on Thursday. The Bangladesh team is led by Farid Hasan Faisal. The squad includes Mehedi Hasan, Jawad Abedeen, Rakibul Hasan, Al Amin Hossain Roni, Al Amin Hossain, Sadik Hasan, Rakibul Islam, Farid Hasan Faisal, Mahfuzur Rahman, Mehedi Hasan, Ishrakul Haque, Saiful Islam, Nahid Hasan, Tahjibul Islam, and Ariful Islam. This series is essentially a platform for youth cricket development. Playing at a neutral venue means neither team gets home advantage, which helps narrow the gap between the two sides at the youth level. The repeated changes to the schedule indicate instability in the organisers' planning. Visa complications and the split arrival of the squad will limit joint preparation before the first match. Afghanistan's tendency to play at neutral venues in Asian youth cricket reflects diplomatic and security realities. Such series serve as a stage for the emergence of future stars from both countries.
